Privacy

A plain-language note, not a legal wall of text. Applies under Nigeria's Data Protection Act 2023.

What we collect

• Your phone number: automatic, since that's how WhatsApp works. Required.
• Your name: only if you choose to tell us. Optional, never required.
• Language preference: which of the 6 supported languages you use.
• Product photos and NAFDAC numbers you send: kept briefly to run the verification and improve the service, then deleted on a schedule (images after 30 days, voice notes after 48 hours).
• Your state or precise location: only if you use a feature that needs it, like finding a nearby pharmacy, and only after we ask and you say yes. Never collected silently.

What we never collect on WhatsApp

• Your email address: adds friction with no clear benefit to you at this stage.

Consent

The first time a feature needs your location or state, we ask explicitly and record that we asked, not just that the data exists. You can decline; the rest of SabiCare keeps working without it.

How it's used

To verify products, run reminders you've opted into, and, only in aggregated, anonymized form, to understand which products get checked most, where, and how often. Individual medication or location data is never sold or shared externally.

Security

Data is encrypted at rest. Our database isn't publicly exposed; only the bot itself can read or write to it.
